Sports : Trenton's Tracy sisters win district doubles title

Just 48 hours after their Lady Bulldogs teammates won a TEAM district title, Trenton seniors Jessica Tracy and Jaci Tracy won an INDIVIDUAL doubles district championship on Thursday afternoon at Chillicothe.

Trenton's "Tracy's" had a bye in the first round, before steamrolling Cameron's team of Webber and Parks in the second round, 6-2, 6-3. Jaci and Jessica won Hirter and Case of Savannah in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-3, before rolling to a championship match victory over Veasy and Schreck of Maryville, 6-4, 6-4.

Jaci Tracy and Jessica Tracy, courtesy of their accomplishment, will advance to SECTIONALS in Chillicothe on Monday. Other teams, in addition to the time of the sectional matches, have not yet been announced.

Other THS results on Thursday included Megan Sole being bounced out of singles by Sydnie Whiteside of Chillicothe, Love-6, Love-6. Sole had a first-round bye.

Magie Steinhoff, after a first-round bye, was defeated by Ali Stephens of Chillicothe in round two by scores of 1-6, 4-6.

Trenton's doubles team of Maria Stevenson and Megan Derry, after earning a first-round bye, lost their second round match to Bolin and Rosenak of Savannah, 6-4, 5-7, 4-6.

Trenton, Chillicothe, Maryville, Savannah, and Cameron made up the Class 1, District 16 tournament.
