The Trenton Lady Bulldogs rode a five-hit, one-walk shutout pitching effort of senior Scotlin Hurley to a 5-0 victory over Marceline on Monday night at Mark Griffin Field, in a game heard locally on KTTN FM 92.3.

The game was scoreless through two innings, until Trenton scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning. Kate Lowrey hit a one-out double, and with Marceline committing three errors after that, along with a double-steal by the Bulldogs, Lowrey, Cassidy Cotton, Rahel Horner, and McKinley Hurley scored.

Marceline was able to get the lead-off hitter on in four of the seven innings, but never was able to get more than one hit in an inning, leaving six runners on base.

Trenton finished the scoring in the bottom of the fifth inning, as Makaila Capeder (Cah-pay-dur) drove home Scotlin Hurley with a one-out single.

The JV team would pick up an 11-0 win over Marceline. Daryian Otto would throw four perfect innings, striking out 7 and Mallory Hooyman would throw the final inning. Hooyman was 2-2 with 2 runs and an RBI, Roya Cox was 1-1 with 2 runs and Jessi Westcott was 1-1 with a run.
