KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Trenton finishes 4th, Chillicothe 5th at annual Chillicothe Golf Tournament

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs earned a fourth place finish, with the host Chillicothe Lady Hornets fifth in the ten-team Chillicothe Invitational Golf Tournament played on Thursday at the Green Hills Golf Course in northern Chillicothe.

The Maryville ladies shot 375 on the day to win the team title, with Moberly finishing just ONE SHOT off the pace at 376. Richmond's score of 385 was good for third place, with THS at 392, and CHS at 407. Other teams at the event were Lawson, St. Joseph Lafayette, Hamilton, St. Joseph Benton, and the Chillicothe JV.

Individual medalist honors went to Lawson's Maddie Propst with a score of 79. Megan Shell of Maryville was second at 82, and Moberly's Nichole Marquis third at 83.

While no THS Lady Bulldogs finished in the top five, THS claimed spots seven through nine, with seniors Katie Lenhart and Chandler Wilson tying for seventh place at 89, and fellow senior Haley Purkapile in ninth place at 90.

Trenton's other scores were Karley McCollum at 124 and Lauren Schmidt at 138. Chillicothe's top score was a 95 turned in by Shelley Rucker (good for 13th place). Other Lady Hornet scores were Morgan Dowell 101, Hannah Leamer 102, Kaylee Thieme 109, and Libby Rule at 125.

Hamilton's top score was a 93 from Morgan George, good for 11th place. The Trenton Lady Bulldogs finish the REGULAR SEASON on Monday, September 24th at the Kirksville Tournament.
