Coming off of a second-place finish on Saturday at the Lathrop Tournament, the Trenton Lady Bulldog volleyball team was hopeful that momentum would carry them to back-to-back wins on their home court on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Unfortunately for the Lady Bulldogs, that did not happen, as on Monday night, the Hogan Prep Lady Rams out of Kansas City rallied from one set down to stun Trenton 11-25, 25-22, 25-14. Trenton was led in the defeat by five kills from Katie Ireland, a dozen digs for Gwen Delp, seven assists for Kate Ewald, four aces for Hayley Mathews, and two blocks for Bekah Wiggins. The Trenton JV defeated Hogan Prep, in straight sets.

Things improved for the THS varsity on Tuesday night, as the Lady Bulldogs swept visiting Hamilton by scores of 25-18, 25-7. Lakisha Hughs led THS with eight kills, with Courtney Weyer adding eight digs, Kate Ewald 13 assists, and Hayley Mathews six aces. The Trenton JV beat Hamilton 25-14, 25-17.

Trenton's volleyball team is next in action on Monday night of next week, playing against the Lady Tigers of Plattsburg High School, on the road at Plattsburg.
