Sports : Maysville's balanced play ousts Trenton for Gallatin Invitational Tournament title

The Maysville Lady Wolverines out-shot the perennial power Trenton Lady Bulldogs by 23 strokes on Tuesday, to claim the team title in the Gallatin Invitational girl's golf tournament at the Daviess County Country Club in Gallatin.

Trenton High School claimed two of the top three INDIVIDUAL positions, with senior Chandler Wilson rallying for the medalist honors. Wilson shot 86 on the day to best the 89 turned in by Maysville's Claire Huffaker and the 92 from the third place golfer, Trenton's Haley Purkapile.

Maysville's solid "team" play boosted the Lady Wolverines to the victory, as MHS claimed the fourth, fifth, and sixth individual positions, with Stefanie Eggleston shooting a 96, Hannah Huffaker 97, and Toni Walser 100.
