The Trenton Middle School team had opportunities to claim a road win on Tuesday night at Polo, driving inside the Panther ten yard line in the fourth quarter's final moments, but coming up short, with Polo holding on for the 20-16 victory.

Trenton's touchdowns came in the second quarter, with a 45 yard scoring run by Spencer Harris and a two-point conversion run by Connor Cotton giving TMS an 8-6 lead; and the fourth quarter, with a 18 yard run by Harris and a two-point conversion by Hunter Dugan giving the 'Dawgs a 16-12 lead. That score came with 6:51 left.

Polo's winning touchdown came with 5:11 remaining, on a 2 yard scoring run. The two point conversion was successful, leaving the final score 20-16.

Coach Brandon Boswell said the Trenton team will need to work on avoiding penalties, but the boys showed "improvement" overall, and will quickly rebound to prepare for Maryville, as the Spoofhounds visit C.F. Russell Stadium at 6 o'clock on Thursday night, September 20th.

The TMS volleyball team, playing at Plattsburg on Tuesday night, beat the Lady Tigers, with the 'B' team winning 25-15, 25-5 and the 'A' team victorious by scores of 25-11, 25-21. Next action for the TMS volleyball teams will be this Saturday at the Cameron Tournament.
