A Hamilton man, 51 year old Robert Hobbs, was sentenced on Tuesday to life in prison in connection with the death of his father more than 2 1/2 years ago. The sentence was announced by Judge Thomas Chapman in Livingston County Circuit Court in Chillicothe.
A jury trial was averted when Hobbs pleaded guilty in July to charges of Second Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action. Caldwell County authorities, in February 2010, reported that 71-year old George Hobbs was shot and killed at a Hamilton residence.
Robert Hobbs' life in prison sentence was for Murder. The defendant also received an additional five years on the Armed Criminal Action charge. |
