Sports : NCMC releases 2012-2013 basketball schedules

The North Central Missouri College basketball programs have finalized their basketball schedules for the 2012-2013 seasons, with the home (and season) openers scheduled for Thursday, November 1st against the William Penn University JV teams at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton.

The road openers come six nights later, with the Pirates and Lady Pirates playing at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa on Wednesday, November 7th.

Early season schedule highlights for North Central include a home doubleheader against Allen County, Kansas on Saturday, November 3rd, a visit from the Highland Scotties of the Jayhawk Conference on Saturday, November 17th, a trip to Iola, Kansas to play Allen County on Wednesday, November 28th, and participation in the Highland Classic in Highland, Kansas over the weekend of November 30th and December 1st.

The Lady Pirates trip to Florida will see the women play two games in early December, against Miami-Dade on Friday, December 7th and Broward County on Saturday, December 8th, with both games slated to be played in Miami.

Region 16 games for NCMC in 2013 include a doubleheader at Penn Valley on Wednesday, January 9; a home date with St. Louis on January 19, a visit from Penn Valley to the NCMC campus on January 23, and a women's game with Cottey College on January 30th.

February brings a trip to St. Louis on the 16th, a trip to Cottey College for the women on the 19th, and to Wentworth Military Academy for the men on the 20th. The Pirate men HOST Wentworth on February 6th.

Non-region opponents in 2013 for the Lady Pirates will include home games with Moberly and Marshalltown, Iowa; the Pirate men will host North Arkansas on February 2nd. The teams finish the regular season on Tuesday, February 26th, hosting John Wood of Quincy, Illinois, before going to postseason play over the weekend of March 1st and 2nd.
