Three people were hurt when a car traveled into the path of another vehicle in Carrollton late Saturday afternoon. One of the drivers, 30-year old Albert Fike of Centerview, was taken by private vehicle to Carroll County Memorial Hospital, with what the Highway Patrol called MODERATE injuries.

A passenger in that car, 67-year old Jackie Shields of DeWitt, was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Carrollton with MODERATE injuries. The driver of the other car, 59-year old Terry Crose of DeWitt, refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

The accident was at the intersection of Highways 10 and 65 in Carrollton. The investigating officer said the northbound car, driven by Ms. Crose, traveled from a stop sign into the path of an eastbound car operated by Fike.

Both vehicles were demolished. The Patrol said Ms. Crose was the only person wearing a seat belt. Investigation is continuing by the Highway Patrol, and charges are pending.
