Sports : TMS wins the Hamilton Tournament

The Trenton Middle School softball team won the Hamilton Tournament played on Saturday. The girls defeated Gallatin 7-1, Cameron 16-1, and beat the host team, the Hamilton Lady Hornets, 6-5 for the championship. Ashten Whitaker was the winning pitcher in all three games.

In the first game (against Gallatin), batting statistics included: Tenna Roberts 1 for 3; Ashten Whitaker 1 for 2 with an RBI; Whitley Richman 1 for 2 with two RBI's; Jaylen Neff 2 for 4 with an RBI; Katerina Black 3 for 4; Jayden Roeder with an RBI; and Shayla Woodside was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Ashten Whitaker struck out ten Gallatin batters and allowed only three hits.

Against Cameron, TMS stats were: Whitley Richman 2 for 3 with an RBI; Jaylen Neff and Katerina Black both 3 for 3 with a combined five RBI's; Claire Utley 1 for 1; Jayden Roeder 2 for 3 with three RBI's; and Mason Hooyman and Shayla Woodside each with an RBI. Ashten Whitaker struck out seven batters and allowed three hits.

Against Hamilton, Whitaker got the victory, with seven hits allowed and three strikeouts. For TMS, Jaylen Neff had two hits, Jayden Roeder two hits and an RBI, while Ashten Whitaker and Shayla Woodside each had RBI's.
