The Trenton Bulldogs scored early and often to overwhelm Putnam County on Friday night at C.F. Russell Stadium, winning by a final score of 56-18.
Trenton scored four touchdowns over the first seven minutes of the first quarter, with Austin Taul scoring on a 31 yard run, and Dalton Triplet scoring three times, on runs of 15, 25, and 18 yards. Colby Larson finished the first quarter scoring on a 40 yard screen pass from Jacob Spillman.
Other Trenton scores on the night came on a 1 yard sneak from Dalton Ellis in the second quarter, Colton Neff on a 1 yard third quarter run, and Dillon Triplet on an 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown late in the third quarter. Putnam County's three touchdowns came in the second half, against the Trenton freshman defense.
Trenton, now 2-1 on the season, will play at Higginsville this Friday night, September 14th at 7 o'clock, with coverage beginning at 5:30 on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.
