KTTN/KGOZ News : More school districts began classes on Wednesday

Opening day of school enrollments continue to be reported today (Wednesday) by several districts. Princeton reports 384 students, a drop by four when compared to 2011 Opening Day. Class size at Princeton ranges from 20 in third grade up to 41 in the sophomore class. There are 20 students in Princeton pre-school.

Gilman City has 128 students in their kindergarten through 12th grade system, plus 16 in pre-school.

The Tri-County School District in Jamesport reports 145 students in the elementary and high school levels (combined). There are 66 in kindergarten through the fifth grade and 79 in 6th through 12th grade. Tri-County has 18 children enrolled in its pre-school program.

The Spickard School District reports 33 students in kindergarten through sixth grade with one other enrolled in pre-school. The number of pupils is an increase of two.

The Laredo District reports 62 students in its kindergarten through eighth grade system, the same number as last year. Laredo has three in pre-school.

Pleasant View R-6 (southeast of Trenton), reports 71 students in kindergarten through the 8th grade. That is an increase of eight when compared to 2011's Opening Day. Pleasant View has 20 enrolled in its pre-school program.
