Sports : Trenton softball opens season Wednesday at Gallatin

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs and Gallatin Lady Bulldogs break the cap on the high school softball season on Wednesday night at 5 o'clock, with the game to be covered LIVE on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.

Trenton comes into the season with the pedigree to be one of the powerhouse softball teams in the area this fall, returning eight starters from last season's two loss squad. Head coach John Cowling says the Lady Bulldogs appear, in practice, to take their hitting ability to a higher level this year:

The biggest news to come out of Trenton's pre-season was the verification that the program is moving up from Class 2 to Class 3 this fall. Coach Cowling spoke of the adjustment that will bring to the Lady Bulldogs:
