KTTN/KGOZ News : NWS meteorologist talks drought, hope for rain

A meteorologist with the National Weather Service, in October 2011, told us that dry weather was expected to continue into 2012. In a recent interview with the PAR Broadcast Group, Evan Bookbinder admitted to not seeing conditions become this bad.

The El Nino he spoke of can bring excessive rain to the U.S. West Coast during the winter, and excessive rain and severe weather to the Southeastern U.S. in the late winter. There have been on weather "trends" in this part of the country during El Nino's.

Bookbinder talks about the statistical information that the National Weather Service is researching in hopes of finding an end to the drought:
