KTTN/KGOZ News : "Potential" weapons found in Livingston County Jail search
Posted by Tom on 2012/8/20 10:40:00 (164 reads) News by the same author

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department says a search of the jail in Chillicothe has resulted in the discovery of "potential weapons". One was described as hard plastic fashioned into a weapon, with the other a "quantity of wire".

Both were found in common areas, making it difficult to determine those responsible. They were found in two of the men's cell areas.

The department says those and other factors resulted in the mail remaining at maximum security. The 23-hour lockdown was instituted last week because of an alleged attempted escape.

Thirty-one year old Jessie Perez of Chillicothe is accused of the attempted escape, with information since forwarded to county prosecutor Adam Warren for consideration of formal charges. Perez was being held on earlier charges of first degree burglary, armed criminal action, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with a motor vehicle. He has been in custody at the Livingston County Jail since April.
