A house fire in Cameron yesterday (Friday) afternoon claimed the lives of three people. The Cameron Fire Department discovered the deceased victims upon entering the structure at 113 East Fourth Street just before 5 o'clock.
The names of the victims have not yet been released. A press conference scheduled for 10 o'clock this (Saturday) morning is expected to provide more details.
The Kansas City Star reports that firefighters arrived at the scene at 4:41 on Friday afternoon to a home that was said to be "on fire", but instead had a "smoke-like" odor, with no other indications of fire. According to media reports, the victims were a man in his 30s and two children, thought to be ages six and eight.
