On Monday morning the Grundy County LEPC announced that effective on Tuesday, July 31st, Grundy County Emergency Management Director Marisa Hutson is resigning her position as the county EMD to pursue a career opportunity outside the area.

Marisa Hutson had the following to say:

“It has been an honor serving Grundy County as the Emergency Management Director (EMD). It has been a rewarding opportunity. I am resigning my position, effective July 31, 2012, to pursue a career opportunity in Madison, Wisconsin. Glen Briggs, Assistant EMD, has agreed to step up to the EMD position for the remainder of the year. Please join me in congratulating him. I want to thank everyone for supporting the Local Emergency Planning Council (LEPC).

Glen Briggs who currently serves as Assistant Emergency Management Director for the county will assume the duties of Director Effective on August 1st.
