The Trenton American Legion Blue Jays played their home opener on Tuesday night, suffering a pair of shutout losses against Kirksville. The Blue Jays are a Junior Division American Legion team coached by Steve Hudson of rural Trenton:

A schedule of 20 to 22 games is anticipated over June and July. Hudson talks about the renovated Burleigh Grimes Field where the team will play its home games:

The fourteen members of the Trenton Blue Jays are Mason Alley, Tanner Hudson, Elliott O'Neal, and Clayton Radcliff of Trenton; Thomas Mallinson of Princeton; Wyatt Thomas of Bethany; Cajun Burkhart of Winston; Ty Hayes of Braymer; Mason McFall and Craig Richardson of Hamilton; Ian Orr of Kidder; Zach Powell and Hadley Williams of Green City; and Jacob Wood of Browning. Each of the boys is either 15 or 16 years old.
