Accidents : Wednesday accident injures Winston man

A Winston man was injured on Wednesday evening in a traffic accident within his hometown. The Highway Patrol described injuries as SERIOUS for 62 year old Terry Caldwell. He was flown by medical helicopter to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.

The Patrol said Caldwell was driving westbound on 2nd Street when he experienced some kind of physical impairment as he was attempting to make a turn onto Richardson Street in Winston. Caldwell lost control of his truck, it went off the west side of the street and struck the corner of a house. His vehicle sustained extensive damage. No information was given as to the damage to the house. The report said the driver was not using a seat belt.
