The Missouri Department of Transportation has released proposed road improvement projects for the next five years. At the same time, MoDOT continues to alert the public that decreased funding that MoDOT is experiencing will affect its ability to make transportation improvements.

A draft statewide transportation improvement plan includes resurfacing Highway 6 between Trenton and Highway 5 south of Milan. Shoulder also are to be improved on the same stretch of road.

Interstate 35 is to be resurfaced in southern Daviess County and the area north of Cameron.

The Highway 69/I-35 loop area near Cameron Regional Medical Center also is to be resurfaced.

Highway 136 between Bethany and the Mercer County line is to be resurfaced. Shoulders also are to be improved in that area.

Other road projects in this area in MoDOT's draft five year plan include: Replacing the Livingston County Route V bridge over the railroad tracks in Chillicothe, replacing the Mercer County Route P bridge over Brushy Creek near Mercer, replacing the Highway 169 bridge over Stanley Lake near Sumner, and replacing the Linn County Route WW bridge over Clark Branch near Marceline.
