Trenton won four of the six singles matches played against the Golden Eagles, with Alvynne Villacampa beating Savannah Sanai at #1 singles, 8-4, Hannah Sowder winning at #2 singles (over Nauy Bui) 8-4, Trenton's Ashley Allen winning at #3 singles (8-3 over Danica Gall), and Hannah Robinson winning a swing match at #5 singles, 8-2 over Jaileigh Hamlin.

Heading into doubles, Trenton needed to avoid being swept by LeBlond to take the victory home, and the #2 team of Sowder and Robinson got the job done with an 8-4 win over Bui and Joe of LeBlond.

LeBlond's victories over Trenton were:
#4 singles : Sarah Aberer d. Claire Utley 8-4
#6 singles : Katelyn Joe d. Hannah Farmer 8-6
#1 doubles : Sanai/Gall d. Villacampa/Utley 8-8 (9-7 tiebreak)
#3 doubles : Aberer/Hamlin d. Allen/Farmer 8-4

The schools played three JV doubles matches against one another, with Trenton dominating play. The team of Samantha Mihalovich and Alainey Fair beat Squires/Robinson 6-1, Cassidy Trump and Abbie Shuler combined for a 7-5 win over Bell/Davies, while Codi DeLong and Madison Untiedt beat Lauren Kempf/Alexandria Kempf 6-love.

With the momentum of Tuesday's road win behind them, Trenton will be aiming for more success today (Wednesday), playing in the Chillicothe Quad, starting up at 9 o'clock in the morning.

Chillicothe warmed up for their own tournament with a 9-0 tennis blitzing of MEC rival Lafayette on Tuesday afternoon. For the Lady Hornets, Sydnie Whiteside, Ali Stephens, Jozie Reeter, and Chelsea Long took 10-0 singles wins. Kelly Westphal and Renee Downing won by nearly as dominant 10-1 finals.

In doubles, the Lady Hornets took three straight 8-love victories in rolling to the easy win over the Fighting Irish.

In another MEC tennis competition, from the Noyes Complex in St. Joseph, the Benton Cardinals beat Cameron, 7-2. The Lady Dragons only head-to-head victories on the day came from #4 singles player Morgan Choate 8-1, and from #5 singles player Taylor Richardson 8-6.
