Trenton High School's Caitlin McNabb played her best golf of the fall to date, shooting a nine-hole score of 13-over par 51 on Tuesday, as Trenton finished fourth in the four-team quadrangular at Richmond.
Richmond, Excelsior Springs, and Grain Valley made up the rest of the field, with Richmond easily winning the team chase with a score of 203. Grain Valley was solidly in second position at 227, with Excelsior Springs nipping Trenton for third, 246 (to Trenton's 250).
On a sunny and muggy 81 degree afternoon at the Shirkey Course, Richmond's Becca Westbrook claimed medalist honors with a round of 49. Co-medalist honors, with an identical round of 49, went to Richmond's Maddy Zeller. McNabb's 51 for the Lady Bulldogs earned her third place overall.
The top individual score for Grain Valley was 52 from Kaylee Hutchens, while a 55 represented Excelsior Springs highest score, coming from Bailey Jarmain.
In addition to McNabb's 51, other THS scores were Karley McCollum at 58, Lana Raymo with 67, Lauren Schmidt with a 74, and Jordain Oshel at 75. Caitlyn Mounce, playing for the Trenton JV, shot a 70 over nine holes. JV medalist honors were taken by Richmond's Hunter Fickess, after shooting a score of 56.
Trenton's next golf competition is the Schuyler County Tournament in Queen City, all day tomorrow (Thursday).
The Chillicothe girl's golf team dominated a four-team quad in St. Joseph, shooting a team score of 199 to roll past Lafayette (240), Benton (243), and Cameron (261).
Hannah Leamer shot a 47 for CHS, good for medalist honors. Other Chillicothe scores were Lauren Mason at 49, Kaylee Thieme 51, Morgan Dowell at 52, and Grace Venner with 54.
