The struggling University of Missouri baseball program will be looking for a pitching coach for the 2015 season, after Matt Hobbs left the Tigers program in late August to accept a coaching position at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Hobbs is a former Missouri player, having pitched for the Tigers from 1999 to 2002. He joined the staff as pitching coach in 2011, and helped guide nine MU pitchers into selection in the Major League Baseball draft, including 2013 second-round pick Rob Zastryzny and 2014 third-rounder Brett Graves.

Since joining the SEC two years ago, Missouri has struggled, particularly in conference play, putting up a record of 16-44. Last season, MU lost its final 15 games in conference play, failing to make the 12-team postseason tournament in Hoover, Alabama. Head Coach Tim Jamieson is under pressure to show signs of growth in the program, entering the final season of his contract in 2015.
