Sixty three year old Rodney Routon of Wellman, Iowa received moderate injuries. He was taken by an ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Routon's northbound pickup was towing a unit that began to fishtail, causing the truck to skid sideways. The towed unit overturned, causing the truck to overturn onto its top. Both the truck and towed unit came to a stop in the driving lane of I-35. The truck was demolished in the 8:40 Monday night accident in Daviess County. Routon was wearing a seat belt.

Late yesterday afternoon, a Brookfield man, 38 year old Keith Lonis received what the highway patrol called serious injuries when his car left Highway 11, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Lonis, whom the patrol said was not using a safety device, was thrown from his vehicle. The patrol report indicated Lonis was flown by medical helicopter to Research Hospital of Kansas City. The car was demolished in the 5:15 Monday accident one mile south of Brookfield in Linn County.
