(heartlandconnection.com) - Earlier this month, the Kirksville Regional Computer Crimes Unit began an investigation into a subject who had been suspected of following juvenile females around an area parking lot in an attempt to take photographs of them from behind as they walked.
The subject was identified as Justin Haley, 34, of Kirksville.
The KRCCU was able to establish contact with Haley using an undercover persona of a 13-year-old female, and a conversation then ensued between Haley and the undercover detective.
Haley allegedly sent messages about wanting to engage in a sexual relationship with the 13-year-old female. Haley then made arrangements to meet the teen in a Kirksville parking lot near a local park on Aug. 22.
The KRCCU along with detectives from the Kirksville Police Department were on scene and arrested Haley when he arrived.
A search warrant was executed at Haley’s residence in the 1100 block of N. Centennial where detectives located computer related items along with a cell phone that was suspected of being used for the chats. During the search, detectives also located a makeshift lab that is suspected of being used to grow psilocybin mushrooms (a controlled substance).
Justin Haley is currently being held on $150,000 cash only bond at the Adair County Detention Center on the charge of Attempted Enticement of a Minor.
