From the press release:

We have been receiving several calls from area residents complaining of phone calls of people claiming to be insurance sales, telemarketers and other business related issues attempting to obtain personal information from the person being called. Several residents responded they were not interested or called them out on being a scam and the callers were very rude, insulting, and profane while some have repeatedly called solely to harass our citizens after being told “No”. The best advice is to only do business with those you know.

August 13 a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and through that investigation allegedly seized marijuana, scheduled prescription medication and ecstasy. We arrested Steven Tyler Kimbrough, 30, for alleged drug violations and he was incarcerated in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail. Mr. Kimbrough has since been charged in Livingston County Court with alleged felony drug violations and remains in jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.

August 08 we began an investigation into the theft/destruction of campaign sign(s) north east of Chillicothe and the damage to a citizen’s mailbox.

We recently completed 7 case files and seeking arrest warrants on 6 defendants for alleged Failure to Appear in Court.

On August 04 we intervened in a potential suicidal situation and helped the person obtain treatment.

On august 19 we served a 96 hour order on a citizen and transported that person to a treatment facility.

On July 31 we began investigating a report of a stolen vehicle (grain truck) from the south west part of the county. The grain truck was found on U.S. 36 and returned to the property owner. We are still seeking the whereabouts of the suspects for questioning.

Last Tuesday Sheriff Cox attended the town meeting in Utica and on Wednesday the town meeting in Wheeling. Area information was exchanged with those in attendance.

Our staff has remained very busy with Court security, criminal investigations, calls for service, assisting other agencies, and routine work.

Other Arrests:

August 11 we served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Jalel Kennedy Glasgow, 23, for alleged Probation Violation on original conviction of Burglary 2nd Degree. Bond was set at $5,000 cash.
