News : Livingston County R-3 Board Adopts Lower Tax Levy

The Livingston County R-3 Board of Education has establish the tax rate at just over four dollars 63 cents ($4.6339) on the 100 dollars of assessed valuation.

That's 56 cents less than last years' levy.

The school board approved purchase of a group, student accident insurance policy to cover all students while attending school, or participating in school-sponsored athletic events or other school outings.

Also adopted were the free and reduced lunch price guidelines, the annual secretary of the board report, a transportation report, student and faculty handbooks.

The board declined any increase in pre school fees at Chula.

Dan Murphy was re-elected as treasurer of the board.

School Administrator Jocelyn Meservey provided reports on the teaching load, the district assessment plan, the annual progress report, and financial investment of surplus funds. The board approved the district assessment plan.
