Sports : Trenton Tennis Replacing Nine Seniors This Fall

The Trenton girl's tennis team will have a different look this year, after saying goodbye to nine graduating seniors in May.

There is a new head coach this fall, with Lauren Boswell moving up from the assistant reigns to the head job, and six freshmen on the 2014 roster, a number that represents nearly half of the total of 13. Coach Boswell, in a recent interview with Sports Director Tom Johnson, spoke about the challenges involved in taking over the tennis program from her predecessor, former Lady Bulldog player and coach Abby Gott:

There will be players on different ability levels coming into the fall season for THS:

Alvynne Villacampa and Hannah Sowders, the Lady Bulldogs most accomplished and experienced players, have already been working, along with some of the other upperclassmen, to improve their games over the summer:

The Lady Bulldogs open the tennis season at Chillicothe on Wednesday, August 27th. The following day, Trenton plays at Savannah. After two more road events (St. Joseph and Chillicothe), Trenton welcomes Cameron for the THS home opener on Thursday, September 4th.
