Deputies responded to the 3100 block of K-68 Highway about 7:20 p.m. Saturday on the report of a missing skydiver.

The skydiver was participating in an event in the area and did not land at the designated drop zone.

The search involved members of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln-Ottawa-Harrison Fire Department and personnel from the skydiving company.

The diver was located in a field about one mile to the east of the drop zone. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and will be involved in the ongoing investigation.
