Crowned queen last evening at the North Central Missouri Fair was Shelby Lowrey of rural Laredo. Named as first runnerup was Shania Anderson of Trenton.
The second runnerup is Blaire Todd of Helena. There were five entries.
Miss Lowrey, as fair queen, receives a scholarship and gifts plus the opportunity to represent North Central Missouri Fair in NEXT year's Missouri State Fair Queen Contest. 2013 N-C-M Fair queen Maria Washburn of King City competes August 7th and 8th in this years' state fair queen contest at Sedalia.
Prizes for the new N-C-M fair queen, Shelby Lowrey, include a 350 dollar scholarship to North Central Missouri College, a tiara, a sash, and flowers.
A Trenton high school graduate, Shelby Lowrey attends North Central Missouri College. Miss Lowrey serve as the 2014-15 vice president of the N-C-M-C ag club.
She's also a tutor in the academic resource center on campus. With graduation next May, Miss Lowrey (in her fair queen application) said she plans to transfer to Northwest Missouri State in Maryville to finish an ag business degree. Her future plans include continuing to farm with her family and to expand her cow / calf herd.
