The 2014-15 season runs from September to May and includes Jim Widner’s Big Band, an 18-piece orchestra; the musical “Cotton Patch Gospel” presented by the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre; the Chillicothe Area Community Choir presenting music from the 1940s through the 1970s; Cat’s Pajamas, a men’s a cappella group that performs at Branson; “The Jungle Book”, a musical presented by the Missoula Children’s Theatre; Pokey LaFarge and his band (an Americana group who have performed on the David Letterman show and with Garrison Keillor); Bob Milne, a ragtime/boogie-woogie pianist who was interviewed by the Library of Congress for four days and is known as the best ragtime/boogie-woogie pianist in the world; a presentation in English of the opera “Cinderella” by the Des Moines Metro Opera; a juried art exhibit of the works of local and area artists; and a Youth Talent Contest.

A season ticket provides admission to all shows. Season tickets cost $65 for adults; $60 for senior citizens; and $30 for students. Funding for the non-profit Chillicothe Area Arts Council is provided through individual and business season memberships; through local foundations and gifts; and through the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

Last season persons from 24 communities purchased season tickets, and individuals from over 100 communities attended arts council presentations, according to Julie Ashbrook, arts council administrator. The council also provides arts assemblies and workshops for local and area schools.

Almost 14,000 persons were served by the Chillicothe Area Arts Council in their last season.
