Police said Becky Vaughn, 40, went missing after she left her home in Miramiguoa Park, near Sullivan, to go to a nearby convenience store.

Authorities said she intended to walk to the Flying J Truck stop, which is four miles from her home, but a neighbor saw her and stopped to give her a ride there.

“That’s has been verified, an employee at Flying J saw her exit the particular service truck and walk around inside the Flying J,” said Kevin Dziejma with Miamiguoa police.

Surveillance cameras at the Flying J did not catch who she left with or when she left. However, authorities said her credit card was used three says later in Brazil, Indiana.

“As soon as I found out it was used, I thought ‘yeah, she’s still alive at least,” said Floyd Vaughn, Vaughn’s husband.

Police told News 4 the surveillance cameras at the Brazil, Indiana truck stop where her card was used were not working.

However, police recently said her family received a letter from her that was postmarked in Virginia in which she said she decided to start her life over somewhere else. According to police, the family believes the letter is authentic.

Even though the letter was postmarked in Virginia, police said they unsure where she lives.
