The Princeton Board of Education has hired an Interim Superintendent for the month of July.
Robert Newhart of Cameron will be paid $4,000. A determination is to be made later as what will be done with the Superintendent's position after July.
The Princeton District announced late last month Superintendent, Terry Mayfield, was placed on a paid leave of absence. No details have been provided by the Princeton District regarding that action.
Interim Superintendent Newhart said Mayfield remains on paid leave of absence but that's all Newhart can say right now.
Newhart has been a Superintendent at Polo 10 years, and at Lexington last year. He resigned at Lexington after last year. Newhart previously was a teacher and coach at
King city; and a teacher, coach, Assistant Principal, and Athletic Director at Cameron. While at Polo, Newhart also was a Principal.
In other news from the Princeton Board of Education meeting, the Board approved faculty member, Wade Hall, as junior high school head softball coach. Rachel Sticken was employed as a special education para professional.
The Princeton Board approved Smith and Associates to provide student insurance for activities. The coverage is purchased by the student's family.
The Princeton Board of Education holds a tax rate hearing August 11th at 5:45 at the high school library. The regular Board meeting will follow.
