42 year old Gary Lee Riddle, formerly of Trenton, was sentenced to 60 days in jail. Per a plea agreement, Riddle was given credit for two days served and the remaining 58 days were suspended in favor of two years probation. He was accused on two counts of violating a protection order for an adult that had been issued from Clinton County Circuit Court.

The charges alleged Riddle made phone calls and sent letters to Martha Thrun and her daughter Misty Riddle at Trenton while incarcerated in a correctional center in Kansas.

Two women received probation and were ordered to make payments after pleading guilty to separate misdemeanor charges of issuing bad checks. Both 31 year old Sara Bassett of Purdin and 47 year old Laura Sternquist of Trenton had imposition of sentence suspended and each was placed on two years probation.

Each was accused of passing three bad checks. Conditions of probation include each making 200 dollar donations to the Grundy County law enforcement restitution fund, payment of costs to the court, and a schedule of restitution payments to the prosecutors' office on behalf of the affected businesses.
