Accidents : Two Injured In Highway 36 Accident East Of Chillicothe

Two Bogard residents were hurt when a pickup truck and a tractor trailer unit sideswiped on Highway 36 east of Chillicothe Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the pickup, 17 year old Madison Dodson, and a passenger in the pickup , 19 year old Hope Dodson, both of Bogard, were taken by private vehicle to Hedrick Medical Center at Chillicothe. Both persons had minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer, 73 year old Donald Maas of Streator, Illinois, was not reported hurt.

The accident happened 3 miles east of Chillicothe on Highway 36. Both vehicles were eastbound.

The pickup was slowing to turn right, then changed lanes to turn left and sideswiped with the larger truck.

The pickup was demolished. Damage to the other truck was described as moderate.

All three persons were wearing seatbelts.
