An effort is being made locally to determine whether there are enough laborers in north-central Missouri to interest a manufacturing company, described as "considering Trenton" as a possible location with 50 to 60 possible positions available.

The prospect is seeking applications from people in and around Grundy County. Job applications will be filled out during three separate, three-hour time frames later this week. To complete an application, go to the Missouri Career Center, located inside the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission at 1104 Main Street in downtown Trenton.

As for the wages for prospective jobs, KTTN has learned that welders, mechanics, machinists, as those working in fabrication, electrical, and hydraulic have starting wages between $10.50 and $14.00 per hour, depending on experience. Assembly line positions start at $8.00 per hour. The company also offers benefits and training. Drug screening and a physical examination are required.

The dates and times for the job application opportunities are Thursday and Saturday mornings from 9 to noon, and Friday afternoon from 1 to 4 o'cock.

Officials say at this time, they CAN NOT release the name of the manufacturing prospect nor the nature of the work. The company says it is an equal opportunity employer. Completion of the application does not guarantee a job. Job descriptions will be available for those applying at the Missouri Career Center later this week.
