Police say Marissa Williams, 19, used Facebook to ask someone she thought was a stranger to kill her family. The person she messaged turned out to be her aunt, who was using a fake profile to check her niece's online activity.

Williams has been living with her aunt at a home on Sylvan Loop Road in Tuscaloosa for a few months.

The teen thought her aunt was too controlling because she couldn't invite people she met on social media over to their home, Lt. Gary Hood with Tuscaloosa County's Criminal Investigations Division said.

When Williams blocked her aunt on Facebook, the aunt created a fake account to see who Williams interacted with online.

Weeks later, Williams allegedly offered to have sex with that person if they killed her aunt, the aunt's boyfriend, her cousin and their dog.

When the aunt learned Williams wanted them dead, she went to the authorities.

"Potentially they were in a lot of danger if in fact she had communicated with a real person and someone had accepted to do this," Lt. Hood said.

Williams was arrested on Tuesday for solicitation of murder. She's being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Williams' aunt confirmed her niece had lived with them since April. She called the situation a big stress and didn't feel comfortable talking about the case publically.
