Daviess County residents can dispose of tires June 28th at the Gallatin brush dump. There's no limit on the number of tires that can be disposed, the tires can be of any size, and the tires can be left on the rim if desired.

All of this is free. The disposal opportunity is for Daviess County residences only. Tires will not be accepted from tire businesses.

The brush dump is north of Gallatin on Route MM. The tire disposal on June 28th is from 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.

Daviess County is holding the tire collection in conjunction with North Missouri Solid Waste Management District. The tire roundup is being funded by a grant from the state's scrap tire fee collected by retailers when new tires are purchased in Missouri.

The tires are to be taken by tractor trailer units to Missouri Vocational Enterprise of the Missouri Department of Corrections near Jefferson City. They'll be shredded into fuel for power plants.
