Water was visually seen yesterday afternoon over airport road and other portions prompting Airport Manager Donnie Vandevender to close it for the rest of the day and overnight.

Flood water receded overnight and efforts were underway this morning, according to
Vandevender, to clean the taxiways.

The Thompson River west of Trenton may have been at its highest level ever.

Information from the National Weather Service shows the Thompson last night got
to nearly 34 point three feet (34.28). That's more than four feet over flood stage of 30.
This morning, the Thompson River is reported to be down a bit, standing at 33 point nine feet and it's expected to continue dropping.

Statistics maintained by KTTN show the Thompson hasn't been this high since 2010. Four years ago tomorrow, June 6th, the Thompson crested at 32 point three feet. Other occasions when the Thompson topped 32 feet include May 16 of 2009 (32.13) and July 25th of 2008 (32.46).

Pictures of the flooded Thompson River were taken this morning at 7:15 a.m.
