A Clinton county accident on Interstate 35 injured three persons, including one from Polo, yesterday afternoon. Two northbound vehicles were involved.
The highway patrol said the driver of a car: 24 year old Elizabeth Adams of Polo and operator of a pickup, 41 year old Kimberly Prague of St. Joseph, received moderate injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to the Liberty Hospital.
A passenger in the car driven by Ms. Adams, 29 year old Jeremy Novak of Lawson, declined treatment at the scene for a minor injury. The state patrol said the car stalled in the passing lane, attempted to turn left into the crossover.
At the same time, the pickup truck driven by Ms. Prague attempted to go to the left to avoid a collision but struck the car. Damage was extensive to the car and moderate to the pickup in the accident at 2:45 Wednesday.
The operator of an all terrain vehicle was hurt early last evening in an accident in Gentry county. 19 year old Austin Konopasek of Albany was flown by medical helicopter to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. The patrol listed his injuries as moderate.
An investigator said Konopasek was attempting to use his A-T-V to climb the south river bank at the Grand River, when the machine rolled backwards,
onto the driver. Minor damage was noted to the A-T-V. The 6:15 Wednesday evening incident was east of the Grand River Bridge, one mile northeast of Darlington.
