KCP&L plans to have a planned temporary power interruption to perform necessary work safely on de-energized lines and equipment.
For this planned temporary power interruption, the majority of customers impacted will be in and around the cities of Laredo and Chula, Missouri.
The power interruption will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 and continue through the night until approximately 5 a.m. on Friday, May 23. This interruption will impact approximately 500 customers. All the work would not be possible if the lines were energized, thus the planned outage. KCP&L will complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize the interruption.
If there is a weather event this necessary work will be rescheduled at a later date.
If customers have any questions related to this interruption, please call our local Trenton Office at 660-752-1251.
KCP&L suggest the following helpful tips prior to and during the interruption:
If any member of your family has a medical condition, make arrangements to have his/her specific needs met during the interruption.
Unplug sensitive computer and electronic equipment, or protect it with a high-quality surge protector.
Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed during the interruption.
Leave a lamp or radio switched on so you’ll know when electric service is restored.
