A Brookfield woman and a Carollton man were injured in two separate accidents in north Missouri over the weekend.
A Brookfield woman was injured last night when her sports utility vehicle ran off U.S. Highway 36 and overturned in Caldwell County.
41 year old Victoria Maldonado received what the highway patrol called minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. The patrol said she was eastbound when her SUV traveled off the north side of U.S. 36; over-corrected, drove off the opposite side of the highway where the vehicle overturned onto its passenger side.
Damage was extensive to the SUV in the accident at 10:40 pm Sunday night 1 mile east of Hamilton. Ms. Maldonado was wearing a seat belt.
In a separate accident, a Carrollton man was injured yesterday afternoon when his pickup went off Highway 24 twice; struck a utility pole and fence.
49 year old Kevin Cain received what the highway patrol called moderate injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Carroll County Memorial Hospital at Carrollton.
The pickup was demolished in the 4:35 pm Sunday accident on Highway 24, at the junction with Carroll County Road 279. Cain was not using a safety device according to the accident report.
