Sports : Albany Warriors Claim Class 1, District 8 Golf Title

The Albany Warriors and Mound City Panthers will join Gallatin and Mid-Buchanan at Monday's Class 1, Section 4 golf meet in Maryville, after the Warriors won the District 8 title on Wednesday afternoon.

Albany dethroned the three-time defending district champions from Mound City, shooting a 382 at the Duncan Hills Course in Savannah. Mound City did advance, as a team, to sectionals, with a score of 398.

Medalist honors were grabbed by Mound City's Miles Loucks, with a round of 20-over par 92. Albany's Adam Putnam was runner-up to Loucks, shooting 93. Tying for third place were Luke Sanders of Mound City and Noah Wilmes of Albany, both at 94.
