Sports : Trenton Bulldog Tennis Falls Against Kirksville

The Trenton Bulldog boys tennis team played competitively, but came up a bit short, falling to a traditionally strong Kirksville High School squad 7-2 on Monday afternoon.

Trenton's victories both came in singles play, with Isaiah Swann beating Kirksville's Hanson, 11-10, and Leighton Fletchall downing Geisbuhler 10-7. Kirksville wins were Murphy over Wilson Utley 10-6, Polovich over Alex Davis 10-4, Pultz over Chanse Houghton 10-8, and Sneddon over Jacob Marlay 10-1.

Trenton struggled in its doubles matches against the Tigers, with Swann and Davis falling 9-7 to Fisher/Van den Top, Utley and Houghton beaten by Jones/Hoeger 8-2, and Gannon Albrecht and Lynch taking an 8-4 loss to Lawrence and Schrodt of Kirksville.

Trenton and Kirksville played six JV doubles matches, with the Tigers winning all of them.

J. Davis/Herring lose 5-7
Hall/Whitney lose 3-6
Gavin Albrecht/Gilham lose 3-6
Lickteig/Demsich lose 0-6
Parrack/Sibbit lose 2-6
May/Hall lose 1-6

The varsity loss to Kirksville dropped Trenton's season record to 3-6, while Kirksville improves to 7-4.
