Sports : Gallatin Bulldogs Win Class 1, District 7 Golf Championship

The Gallatin Bulldogs, with a team score of 383, out-shot Mid-Buchanan by eight strokes to win the Class 1, District 7 championship on Monday at the Shirkey Course in Richmond.

By virtue of their top two team finishes, both the Bulldogs and the Dragons will advance their entire teams into next week's Class 1 Section 4 tournament at the Mozingo Lake Course in Maryville next Monday (May 12th).

Braymer High School's Oskar Lindblad is the individual District 7 champion, shooting a six-over par score of 77. Gallatin's Bradley Rhoades was runner-up with a score of 84. Gallatin's Grant Simmons shot an 88, good for fourth place.

Other area scores (those advancing to sectionals in bold) were:

Reid Steiner - Maysville - 121 (25th place)

Chillicothe High School struggled to a score of 453 on Monday, finishing 9th in the 11 team Class 3, District 8 tournament at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course. Pembroke Hill, with a score of 309, and St. Pius X, with a score of 348, earned the top two spots, and will advance their teams to sectional competition. Cameron finished in 7th place, with a score of 390. Pembroke Hill's Preston Fleenor is the district individual champion, with a round of one-over par. Cameron's Chase Foreman, with a round of 12 over par, finished in a tie for 8th place, good for a spot in sectionals.
