Including the change in gas prices in Missouri over the past week, prices on Sunday were unchanged compared to the same day in 2013 and are 3.3 cents per gallon lower than April 2014. The national average has INCREASED 9.2 centers per gallon during the last month and stands 13.4 cents per gallon higher than May 2013.

GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan stated since February 7th, gasoline prices have been on the upward trajectory in a majority of the United States, and at least for now, prices have broken that upward trend and have stabilized. It likely means in the couple of weeks that gasoline prices will begin seeing more DOWNWARD momentum. By Memorial Day, if there are not major refinery kinks that develop, the national average could drop into the $3.50's, or perhaps even lower.
