Sports : Trenton Out-Shoots Chillicothe In Riverside CC Duel

Trenton High School had the top five individual scores of the day, convincingly beating the Chillicothe Hornets in a boy's golf duel at Riverside Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Chase Tolson earned medalist honors for the Bulldogs, with a nine-hole score of 36. Nate Swann loomed close behind, with 38. Lane Beverlin shot 40 for THS. Other Bulldog scores were Cree Mullenix at 42 and Nick Gass at 43. Chillicothe's top round came from Colten Webb with 45. Other Hornet scores were Cade Snyder at 47, Mason Myers with 52, Garrett Zelmer at 53, and Alex Wright with a 55. Trenton's final team score was 156, with Chillicothe at 197.

On the junior varsity level, the Bulldogs out-shot the Hornets, 193 to 244. The top score of 41 was turned in by Trenton's Corbyn Guile. Trenton's Tucker Franklin had a 45, with the other scores coming from Chillicothe's Peyton Moritz at 52, Trenton's Drew Dolan at 53, Trenton's Conner Lovell at 54, Chillicothe's Bradley Ogle at 58, Chillicothe's Chris Bethel and Zach Holland tying at 67, Chillicothe's Dillon Swoope at 71, and Trenton's Cade Darting at 72.

Trenton will head to the Green Hills Golf Course in Chillicothe on Thursday, with the Hornets hosting the annual Chillicothe Golf Tournament, starting at 9 o'clock in the morning.
