Sports : LeBlond Tennis Improves To 9-1, Defeating Trenton

In what turned out to be a competitive day of tennis, the host LeBlond Golden Eagles downed the Trenton Bulldogs in varsity action at Noyes Courts in St. Joseph.

Trenton's only victories came at #4 singles, with Chanse Houghton downing John Lierz 9-7, and with the #1 doubles team of Isaiah Swann and Alex Davis, 9-8 over Nolan Nadolski and Drake Ford. Trenton suffered a number of close individual defeats, with Nadolski beating Swann 9-8, and Matthew Hall beating Leighton Fletchall 8-6. Other singles results were Ford over Utley 8-3, Mears over Alex Davis 8-4, and Spencer Joe over Jacob Marlay, 8-4.

LeBlond took 2 of the 3 doubles matches, with Mears and Lierz beating Utley and Houghton 8-5, and Joe and Hall beating Marlay and Fletchall winning by an identical 8-5 score.

The schools met in 12 junior varsity matches, with seven singles and five doubles duels. Here are the results:

Trenton's J. Davis loses 6-7
Trenton's Gannon Albrecht wins 6-4
Trenton's Lynch wins 6-1
Trenton's Herring loses 3-6
Trenton's Hall wins 6-2
Trenton's Whitney loses 2-6
Trenton's Parrack wins 7-5

Trenton's J.Davis/Gn.Albrecht lose 1-6
Trenton's Lynch/Herring lose 3-6
Trenton's Hall/Whitney win 6-2
Trenton's Lickteig/Demsich lose 1-6
Trenton's Gilham/Sibbit lose 0-6
