News : NCMC Announces Speaker For Commencement Ceremony

Don Sipes, Vice President of Regional Services for Saint Luke’s Health System and Chief Executive Officer for Saint Luke’s North Hospital-Smithville, will provide the commencement address at North Central Missouri College’s afternoon ceremony on Saturday, May 10.

North Central will host two Commencement ceremonies on May 10 as ever-increasing numbers of graduates have prompted the college to move to two events. The afternoon ceremony will focus on allied health including all candidates for degrees or certificates in nursing, health care management, medical assistant, EMT/paramedic, radiology technology, surgical technology, dental hygienist, health information management, pharmacy technology, physical therapy assistant, medical laboratory technology, occupational therapy assistant, medical insurance and billing, and pharmacy technician.

Sipes, an alumnus of North Central Missouri College, is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia and Central Michigan University. Prior to his work with Saint Luke’s, Sipes was the CEO of Pershing Memorial Hospital at Brookfield and Pershing Regional Health Center at Marceline. He has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations in his field and has earned several honors, including the Missouri Hospital Association Distinguished Service Award, the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award, the North Central Missouri College Distinguished Alumni Award and the American College of Healthcare Executives Service Award. Sipes and his wife Linda, residents of Kansas City, have two children and two grandchildren.

The afternoon ceremony is set to begin at 1 p.m. on May 10 in the Ketcham Community Center on the NCMC campus. For those not able to attend, the NCMC Development Office is sponsoring videos and live streaming of the ceremonies on www.kttn.com.
