News : Two Injured In Accident On I-35

Cameron and Gladstone residents were injured early Thursday morning (12:40 AM) when their vehicle ran off southbound Interstate 35 in Clay County.

The highway patrol said the driver, 20 year old Joshua Elliott of Cameron, received minor injuries. His passenger, 20 year old Cheyenne Underwood of Gladstone, sustained injuries what the patrol called serious. Both persons were taken by ambulance to the Liberty Hospital.

The patrol said the driver apparently fell asleep, allowing the vehicle to run off the left side of the road, where it went into the median and struck guard rail cables. Damage to the vehicle was extensive. Both persons were using seat belts.
